Juan Gil, a family business founded in 1916 in the center of the city of Jumilla, is the champion of the map of Jumilia as a (top) wine region and has led several winemakers to stand up for the prestige/potential of the wines of the area and qualities of the Monastrell grape. True to its origins, this winery has seamlessly fused tradition and news technology with respect for the environment. Juan Gill is also the creator of the famous Clio and the world famous El Nido.
The Yellow Label from Juan gil is made from hand-picked Monastrell (Mourvèdre), which after fermentation for 4 months has matured in partly French / partly American oak, after which it is returned to stainless steel before bottling. The Yellow label (until 2017, this wine was still called the 4 Meses) has an intensely deep cherry colour. Powerful aroma, attractive fruit aromas that remain very nicely balanced in the long aftertaste. Delicious glass! A direct hit for a good barbecue, dinner or by the fireplace. The Yellow Label is now perfectly ready to drink and has a great price/quality ratio because a wine of this level for well under 10 euros is difficult to find.
We're not going to deny it; We are a big fan of Juan Gill and especially like that it has wines in the top segment, such as the Clio and the El Nido, as well as wines that are also made with love and have a high quality but also very be affordable. We have the honor in the Netherlands to supply this special Juan Gill line. Great Price/Quality.
In addition to the Yellow, Juan Gil also has the Silver Label (12 months of maturation) and the Blue Label (18 months of maturation) and then of course the great Juan Gil Blanco and the scarce Juan Gil Rosé
