2021 Il Palagio Brand New Day Rosato

Il Palagio is a wine estate located near the medieval town of Figline Valdarno known as the 'Farm of Florence'. They owe this nickname to the abundance of maize that used to be there. Baci sulla Bocca and the Rosé New Day is the first wine of Il Palagio 1530 which has been accompanied by the famous couple from the juice to the final bottle.

For me, life in Il Palagio is like living in a painting. It is one of the favorite places on earth: the atmosphere for Sting and his wife Trudy. The atmosphere you breathe there is magical,” says musician Sting. “We have always kept a lot of our property in Tuscany, also because of what the land has been able to give us,” confesses Trudie Styler, actress, director, producer and entrepreneur, as well as the singer's wife. Years ago when Trudy was looking for a house in Italy, the real estate agents thought she wanted a palace with frescoes on the walls and ceiling. But Trudy is a farmer's daughter and she was looking more for a place where they could set up an ecological farm.

They have hired the renowned winemaker/oenologist Riccardo Cotarella from the 2020 harvest to oversee the vineyards and winemaking. Cotarell is generally regarded as Italy's leading advisory oenologist, plans to focus on making wines with both Chianti and Typical Geographical Indication (IGT) from the 2020 harvest.

This new rosé was released together with the new white wine Baci sulla Bocca in spring 2021 and this 2021 Brand New Day is therefore the 2nd release and only came on the market in April 2022. This Tuscan rosé has that specific color of rose from Provence in the glass. Nice and juicy, fresh and fruity, which you can expect from a Tuscan rosé, but certainly also a bit more complex and a bit more spicy because this rosé is a 100% Sangiovese. This New Day Rosato got the name from an old song by Sting Brand New Day.
