2021 Gil Family Estates Honoro Vera Garnacha

Honoro Vera is the new project of the Gil family, which are world famous with its El Nido and Clio wines, but also has very small beautiful domains where the best of the region is brought out on a very small scale. All these wines are all gems. The name Honoro Vera is a tribute to the Gil family where Honoro is the name of Miquel Gil's grandfather and Vera of his grandmother

In 2005, Bodega Ateca, 55 hectares in size, was established in the village of the same name. The cuvée Honoro Vera is composed with Grenache Noir from a very old gnarled vineyard. The traditional fermentation is followed by a short maturing in French oak barriques (3-5 months). The wine shows a beautiful purple-red color and develops an expressive aroma in which notes of cassis, blackberry and cherries in alcohol fuse together with dark chocolate and a little mint. On the palate there is initially a strong attack, followed by tasty fruit, fresh tannins and spices. The whole ends in a meaty and balanced final. In Perswijn the wine has been given the status: Selected and that is not surprising given the unprecedented good price / quality ratio

The Honoro Vera Garnach is a smooth red wine. Delicious as a standalone glass and perfect with rice, pasta (noodles, spaghetti, macaroni), white and blue fish, goat cheese, cold meats, vegetables, lentil soup and grilled meat.
