2021 Casa Rojo Macho Man Monastrell Love is Wine Box

The 2020 vintage was, from a climatic point of view, characterized by temperatures slightly higher than normal in the area. The most influential phenomenon was the large rainfall between the months of March and May, which resulted in one of the rainiest vintages in recent years. This fact affected the vineyard, with high vegetative growth of the vines and with excellent ripening of the grapes as a result, postponing the harvest date until the end of September, thus avoiding the hottest months of the year in El Valle de La. All this has helped to make the Macho Man a well-structured and balanced wine with good acidity. This balance characterizes the wines of Casa Rojo. The Macho Man is one of the top players of CAsa Rojo and is also known as the MMM (Macho Man Monastrell).

The Casa Rojo Macho Man Monastrell is a 100% Monastrell (known in France as Mourvedre) and comes from vineyards under the protected geographical indication TIERRA DE MURCIA and are between 10 and 80 years old. After picking and selection, the wine matures in peace for 12 months in French and American oak barrels. The Macho Macho Man Monastrell (MMM) is a fruit-oriented red wine full of aromas of black cherries, plums and berries. Smoke and groundnuts and a fresh herbal edge provide tension. Well-integrated tannins and balsamic acid provide structure and in addition to the wine, the selection is also downright fantastic.
