Description
The Pas De Nom Range was created in tribute to Uncle Japie Bronn, the first farm manager at Beau Constantia and the gentleman who dedicated his life to establishing Beau Constantia's high altitude vineyards against the steep slopes of the Vlokkenberg. The Creative Batch is a wine that gives Megan van der Merwe, the winemaker, the opportunity to explore and experiment with the vineyards of the greater Western Cape!
The 2021 Creative Batch (v2.0) is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Roussanne, Verdelho, Chardonnay, Viognier and Clairette Blanche – all treated differently to honor each variety's individual potential as a wine. This wine is all about the journey - the journey taken to bring all these unique parcels together in one cellar, and the exploration it takes to find these hidden parcels of grapes and the stories behind them. In turn, they are able to preserve lost and forgotten vineyards and return them to their former glory.
On the nose you will find floral notes supplemented with cardamom, citrus and ginger. In the mouth the wine is lively and ends with an incredible saltiness. This is not your average white wine, it is complex and takes you on the journey of every grape present.

Wijnhuis
The Winery Beau Constantia is located on the hills of the Constantia Nek mountain pass, overlooking False Bay. What makes Constantia special is the proximity to the sea, even though it is a mountainous site. The vine benefit from the fresh sea breeze along with the altitude. The very steep slopes of the vineyards and long ripening period create extremely concentrated wines. This combination creates wine with a strong sense of character.
Megan van der Merwe is the youngest winemaker in the Constantia Valley. In addition to being a talented winemaker, her true passion is nature and conservation. For this reason, Megan believes that as little as possible should interfere in the processes that take place from the vine to the wine.
