2020 Weingut Pfaffl St. Laurent Reserve Alten

In 1978, Roman and Adelheid Pfaffl became owners of Weingut Pfaffl at a young age in Stetten, a village just north of Vienna in the Weinviertel - Lower Austria region. Before 1978, the Pfaffl farm was dominated by the cultivation of grains, potatoes and the rearing of cows and pigs. A lot has changed in a short time and Pfaffl is currently one of the highest peaks in Austria. Pfaffl was named Best Austrian Producer in 2022 by the Frankfurt International Trophy. Earlier this year they received the same award from Mundus Vini. At Parker (the Wine Advocate) they belong to the highest scoring producer with their entire range.

Concentrated, intense St. Laurent. From the same vineyard as the Wald, but from slightly older vines (21 years old) and with a slightly longer barrel aging. The wine is aged for 18 months in new and used barriques. A beautiful ruby red color in the glass with in the nose and mouth and notes of forest fruits - flowers - herbs - cedar - milk chocolate - 92 points - Falstaff (2019) + 91 points - Wine Enthusiast (2018).
