2020 Tentenublo Wines Escondite del Ardacho El Abundillano

Escondite del Ardacho El Abundillano is perhaps the most personal wine produced by the young but famous winemaker Roberto Oliván for the Tentenublo winery. This is a Rioja version, but the unique thing is that it contains only a little Tempranillo (the regular grape from the Rioja) and especially Grenache (and a little Malvasia and Viura). The grapes come from the Viñaspre vineyards in Álava which are between 90-105 years old and are located on a chalky plot at an altitude (over 600 meters). This is perhaps the most special Rioja we know and completely unique because the Rioja is mainly a Tempranillio region. 12 months aging in French oak and part in Hungarian oak. Silky smooth, fresh and balanced. In the nose we smell red fruit, fennel, licorice and chocolate with balsamic shades. In the mouth notes of flowers such as violets and full of beautiful ripe fruit. It has the power of a wine from the Priorat and the elegance of a Garnache from the Mentrida. A delicious full-bodied wine with medium acidity. With this blend of mainly Garnacha and Tempranillo and a little Malvasia, a red wine has been created that is an absolute surprise even for the Rioja experts. Total production: ~1,800 bottles

In some cases, the wines are given a kind of WAX closure instead of a regular capsule. This has no further purpose and has the disadvantage that it hardens quite quickly and pieces can then simply crumble (spontaneously, during transport, etc.). This has no influence on the quality of the wine. We cannot give any further guarantee for this.
