2020 Saint Clair Marlborough Origin Chardonnay

Saint Clair is named after James Sinclair, who was responsible for the early settlements in Blenheim, New Zealand, home to the South Island winery. Founded in 1978, the family-owned winery is one of the pioneers of winegrowing in Marlborough. Hence, the link with pioneer James Sinclair was soon established. Saint Clair owns 270 acres of vineyards in Marlborough on the South Island and Hawke's Bay on the North Island.

After pressing, part of the wine is fermented on French and American oak, part of which is new. The wood-aged part undergoes a malolactic fermentation, a technique that converts the sharp acids into soft, round acids.

In the glass, this beautiful chardonnay has a light straw yellow color with stone fruit, hazelnuts and sweet spices on the nose. On the palate the Saint Clair Marlborough Origin Chardonnay is Full and creamy wine with peach, citrus and biscuit. Delicious with grilled chicken in cream sauce or dishes with salmon.
