2020 Palacios Remondo Rioja La Vendimia

The Remondo winery Rioja Palacios is a family business linked to wine production for four generations. One of the most notable members of this family is Álvaro Palacios, who also make wines in Priorat (L'Ermita, Finca Dofí, Les Terrasses) and El Bierzo (Corullón, La Faraona, Petalos). Now with Remondo they have a very modern Rioja house on the map.

The young 50/50 blend of Garnacha and Tempranillo is aged for four months in oak barrels to add some complexity while preserving the freshness and primary character of the wine. It has a nose that combines the floral character of the Garnacha and the more serious profile of Tempranillo, the two being quite integrated. It is juicy and lively, medium to full. It has attractive aromas and flavors that are refined and elegant, attracted by floral and red fruit notes, and with very fine tannins that give it a silky texture. The mouthfeel is quite soft, with integrated acidity. A great affordable Rioja.
