2020 Gil Family Estates Morca Garnacha

Bodegas MORCA is part of Juan Gil Family. Bodegas Morca is located in the village of Borja, in the province of Zaragoza and belongs to the appellation Campo de Borja - the region which is famous for the red firm garnacha. Garnacha grapes from small plots with low yields are hand-picked and fermented separately in small vats and then transferred to French oak barrels to complete the malolactic fermentation process. The wine matures for 22 months and then each barrel is tasted and after a very strict selection there is very limited production of this exclusive wine. The wine is then aged for at least 6-9 months in the cellars of Morca before this exclusive wine is released on the market.

This Morca Garnacha has an opaque purple color in the glass with lush but precise aromas of crushed black fruits and plums on the nose, framed by cedar wood and spices. Firmly structured, rich, polished with ripe and supple tannin backbone. This is super ripe and intoxicating, in the style of a mini Amarone.
