2020 Francis Ford Coppola Pinot Noir Santa Barbara Diamond Collection

Over the years, Coppola has added new varieties and blends to the Diamond Collection, especially as they found new and unique vineyards. The grapes used for this Diamond Collection Appellation Series Santa Barbara Pinot Noir come from an appellation where the coastal mountains are not in a north-south direction but in an east-west direction. Santa Barbara County is the only region in North America where this is the case. The morning mist extends the growing season and helps the fruit retain a strong natural acidity and is highly concentrated. This results in great finesse with layered, silky texture and abundant aromas. The wine is aged for 7 months in oak barrels of which 30% French and 70% natural oak.

This red wine is daring, with a tough structure. Rich aromas of black fruit and grilled almonds. Combined with notes of dried flowers. Hearty, warm flavors reminiscent of apple pie. Notes of fruit, leather and oak contribute to a spectacular ending. Perfect with grilled chicken or Coq au vin.
