2020 EOS California Chardonnay

The Californian EOS refers to the name of the Greek goddess of the dawn Eos, who opened the gates of heaven every day and caused the sun to rise. Eos was cursed by Aphrodite for having an affair with Ares. Her punishment was an insatiable hunger for young men. At Eos - the winery - they are as passionate as the namesake, but our insatiable hunger is healthier and focused on the production of dense reds, complex whites and sumptuous dessert wines.

The EOS Chardonnay California is mainly made from Chardonnay with a few percent Sauvignon blanc for freshness and acidity. The grapes come from several vineyards in California, including Sonoma County, Lake County, and the Central Coast. The juice is fermented in a combination of stainless steel and new oak. In the glass, the wine is light golden yellow in color with notes of citrus, ripe apple, spices and vanilla in the nose. In the mouth, the wine is fruity and full-bodied with notes of baked apple and subtle wood tones in the aftertaste. Delicious with roasted chicken from the oven. Also delicious with fried chicken or pasta with garlic shrimps.
