Commanderie Peyrassol, founded around 1250 by the Templars, is located in the middle of the Maures, the black mountains in the Var. On this spot they created a resting place for the many pilgrims on their way to the promised land, Rome or Santiago de Compostela. The Templars were also involved in viticulture, as old documents show.
Now, in our time, the entire Commanderie has been beautifully restored by order of the owner Philippe Austruy. In the courtyard you imagine yourself back in time. But the link to the present is clear: around the buildings and in the vineyards you will find beautiful constellations of international artists, such as Barry Flanagan, Gloria Friedman and Jaume Plensa. The processes in viticulture have also been raised to a higher level by modern techniques. Wonderful wines are made in this earthly paradise!
#LOU by Peyrassol is the latest addition to Commanderie de Peyrassol. The bottle was designed by the owner's youngest daughter, Lou. #LOU by Peyrassol symbolizes freedom and enjoying life in all its simplicity or glamourous, together with your friends, being able to relax, but also daring to do it, leading the way, setting trends. The image on the bottle has multiple colors.
The #LOU is a genuine Côtes de Provence and made from cinsault, grenache, mourvèdre and syrah. Each variety is vinified separately. They are picked in the very early morning to avoid early spontaneous fermentation and when they reach the winery they are immediately pressed and undergo fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. The aging of the great wine is very long for about 8 months on fine lees (sur lie) in stainless steel barrels.
The #LOU Rosé has a soft, fresh, very light pink color as befits a beautiful Provence rose with beautiful notes of gooseberry, raspberry and white blossom in the nose. In the mouth it excites the taste buds with its vibrancy and intense fruit flavors of gooseberry, fresh strawberries and white fruit. Simple, balanced and beautiful light a seductive combination!
The LOU by Peyrassol is a typical dry Provence rosé wine. The #LOU is very refreshing to drink as an aperitif or with Mediterranean dishes and the bottles are very beautiful where the image on the bottle has multiple colors.
