2020 Château Langoa Barton Saint Julien Grand Cru Classé
Château Langoa Barton is a Troisième Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Julien. Of all the Grands Crus Classés of the 1855 classification of the Médoc, Château Langoa Barton is the only domain that is still owned by the same family as at the time. The wine is a blend of mainly cabernet sauvignon with merlot and cabernet franc.
The 2020 Langoa Barton has a deep purple-black color and needs a little swirl and some oxygen in the glass to release its full aromas but then the wine comes loose with black cherry preserves, dark berries, menthol, graphite, worked earth and bouquet garni. The medium-bodied palate has an impressive freshness with red berries on the palate and spicy notes (pepper) in a core of black fruits, with grainy tannins.
