Château de Beaucastel is set in a magical setting dotted with vineyards, ancient olive trees and truffle oaks. Beaucastel, that is the most famous wine of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Here you will find nature in its purest form and its strength comes to rest. The typical rolled boulders are the secret of its vineyards in which gnarled vines grow in the traditional 'gobelet' shape. On this ancient soil we find the 13 grape varieties that are allowed in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. All these 13 grape varieties form the basis of the mythical blends of Château de Beaucastel, where they are grown biodynamically. With this, they are one of the last to use the richness and complexity that this blend offers.
The history of Beaucastel starts in the early 17th century. The Perrins appeared in the early 20th century. We are now five generations later and there is a world company in the field of quality wines. From very affordable to the absolute top. Everything about vision, technique and vineyard management that has given Beaucastel the coveted global top position applies to the vineyards and the wines with the other designations of origin, such as Ventoux, Luberon, Cotes du Rhone, Gigondas, Vinsobres, Rasteau and Vacqueyras. While retaining its own character; the differences between the wines are great and prove the respectful method The Becausastel Chateauneuf du Pape is the famous wine of Perrin and contains the thirteen grape varieties of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation with a strong share of Mourvèdre and Grenache (30% each) , Syrah 10%, Counoise 10% Cinsault 5% and the rest distributed among the other grape varieties: Vaccarèse, Terret noir, Muscardin, Picpoul, Picardan, Bourboulenc, Roussanne.
The Chateauneuf du Pape is a rare beauty and has a very nice depth and complexity. In the glass, this famous Beaucastel has a deep ink-like ruby red color. In the nose aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, chocolate, tobacco and garrigue (dried Provencal herbs). In the palate notes of very ripe, small black fruit, cherry jam, figs, lavender and thyme, which are followed by a long finish with beautiful soft ripe tannins. This wine will improve over the years and has a drinking window until at least 2040+
