2019 Velenosi Verso Sera Colline Teramane DOCG

The name reflects the approach of the moment dedicated to relaxation and not to work: Verso Sera means "Towards the evening" "and this is the intention of Velenosi's iconic wine (only on the market from vintage 2017). The Verso Sera is a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG and is a wine that can be drunk even on its own, sitting comfortably on the sofa and not necessarily paired with a meal, as Angela Velenosi explained to us and she characterized it more as a "meditative wine " It is a delicious red quality wine from the beautiful winery Velenosi from the Marche made from 100% Montepulciano from its own vineyards in the municipality of Controguerra, in the province of Teramo, 260 meters above sea level. The grapes are planted from south to southeast, and thus the grapes benefit from prolonged exposure to sunlight and the proximity to both the mountains and the Adriatic Sea means that the humidity due to the coolness at night again naturally due to the wind during the day - so no chemical interventions. The harvest is entirely by hand during mid-October and yields are very minimal.

After vinification in thermally conditioned cement vats and maceration with the skins for about 28 days, the aging takes place in 30 hectolitre oak barrels for about ten months. The result? A wine characterized by an intense ruby red color, an intense and complete nose, with hints of ripe fruit, plums, blackberries and blackcurrants, opening into a spicy bouquet ranging from tobacco to leather. Soft and velvety tannins on the palate.
