2020 Trimbach Pinot Noir Reserve

The Trimbach Pinot Noir Rederve is the only red wine and also comes from the Ribeauvillé located in Alsace Alsace and therefore particularly scarce given the limited planting of Pinot Noir in Alsace. They start with a strict selection and sorting of the grapes in the vineyards. The grapes are gently pressed pneumatically for 2-3 hours. The juice from the last 30 minutes of pressing is kept separate and sold in bulk. The next 3-4 days fermentation starts and lasts for 2-4 weeks. Racking is used to separate the lees from the juice. No malolactic fermentation, preserving fruit purity, freshness and natural ripe acidity. The wine remains in barrels or stainless steel tanks until bottling, which begins in April and ends in September.

As with all Trimbach wines, no oak is used for aging and the style remains true: dry and without wood aging. This Pinot Noir develops red fruit aromas and is smooth, fruity and fresh on the palate. This is an excellent wine to serve slightly chilled with fish and for us is also a great wine to enjoy standalone while enjoying the spring or summer sun. This Pinot Noir from Trimbach is delicious and pure wine.
