2019 Tenuta di Ghizzano Il Ghizzano Rosso Costa Toscana

This Il Ghizzano Rosso is made from Sangiovese grapes with a small percentage of Merlot that are mainly grown in the vineyards "Santa Maria" and "Il Monte". Vintage 2018 received no less than 92/100 points from the famous wine writer James Suckling. He writes: "A fresh, fruity red with currant, blackberry and stone aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins and a polished, focused finish. Some oyster shell. Better after 2021."

The wine is also certified organic and has the "Suolo e Salute" certificate.

The grapes for this wine are always picked by hand and then carefully checked and selected. Fermentation occurs with naturally occurring yeasts in open stainless steel and / or concrete vessels for 12-14 days.

This red wine goes well with dishes with beef, lamb and veal and with poultry.

Tenuta di Ghizzano is located in Ghizzano, close to the Tuscan coast, about 40 km from Livorno and 40 km south of Pisa. The area is also called Colline Pisane (hills of Pisa).
