Description
In 1992 Thomas Haag, the son of the celebrated Brauneberg winemaker Wilhelm Haag, took over the Schloss. It was already very good, but Thomas has made it a Champions League domain by working hard. According to the Gault Millau, it belongs to the very best in Germany. And the only domain in Germany to receive the highest award in all guides! The suppleness and drinkability are trademarks of Schloss Lieser, such elegance and above all the temptation to swallow a wine can be found at few other producers. In short, a must have!
The Schloss Lieser Riesling trocken Heldenstück is the former Spätlese Trocken. This designation alone is no longer allowed by the VDP and the downgraded Niederberg Helden GG now comes along as the 2019 Lieser Riesling trocken Heldenstück (like Richard Strauss' symphonic poem Heldenleben, but here, literally translated as "Heroic piece"). It is clear and intensely aromatic on the nose, with ripe and luscious peach aromas. This is an elegant, tropical flavor and quite smooth but playful HeldenStück that gives a mouthful of charmingly juicy Riesling with a stimulating salty finish.
