2019 RedHeads R'dotto Royale Italian Blend

The RedHeads R'dotto Royale Italian is a blend of the typical Italian grapes namely Barbera, Montepulciano, Nebbiolo, Sagrantino, Sangiovese. The grapes come from various vineyards in the Adelaide region. The grapes are fermented in open tanks, with the grape pulp being pumped over twice a day. The wine is then fermented a second time in oak barrels to add extra color and intensity. The wine is then aged for 10 months in used barrels (500 and 300 litres) of French and American oak. In the glass, the wine is dark red with a purple glow. In the nose mainly red and dark fruit such as cherries, blackberries, raspberries and pomegranate. In the mouth the wine is very refined with lots of fruit, spices, leather, tobacco and firm tannins but also with a very good balance between the fruit and the acidity which makes the wine very complete. The wine is perfect with a medium-rare grilled steak with oven-roasted potatoes.
