2019 Méo-Camuzet Meursault

Jean-Nicolas Méo is widely regarded as one of the very best producers of Burgundy. His wines have a unique style. They possess a sensual velvet structure, complexity, richness, depth and an enchanting perfume. They are strongly reminiscent of the wines of the recently deceased Henri Jayer (according to many the greatest winemaker in the modern history of Burgundy). This is not surprising, Jean Méo learned the trade from Jayer and he was associated with Méo-Camuzet as a consultant for a long time.

The 100% Chardonnay grapes come from the northern part of the appellation. The Meo-Camuzet Meursault has a tightly wrapped bouquet with orange blossom and citrus scents, with a hint of grilled walnut in the background. The taste is well balanced, rounded on the palate with a hint of spice and lots of hazelnut in the finish. This is a great white wine from a domain often associated with the top among Burgundy. Every year only a few boxes of this beautiful wine are available.
