2019 Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine Clos du Four
The wines are made by Dominique Lafon, who shows the same craftsmanship here as in Meursault. But they are typical of the Mâcon! The wines are not 'clung together' but vinified vineyard by vineyard. Domique works in a biodynamic way, so no poison or fertilizer.
Milly-Lamartine is the village in the Mâconnais where Dominique Lafon cultivated his first vineyards in 1999. The wine has a beautiful pale yellow color. The Mâcon Milly Lamartine Clos du Four has a clear and precise bouquet. Slightly floral with spicy fruit. The aroma of wild roses is seductively delicious and inviting. The taste is mineral with a wonderful acidity. The wine is lively, elegant with a beautiful, again somewhat mineral aftertaste. This is a beautiful Macon where advice is to open the bottle 1 hour before.
When Dominique Lafon acquired his first vineyard in Macon in September 1999, it was a very important gesture and even more of a statement to the wine world. The famous winegrower, renowned for his Meurssault from the Cote D'Or, invests in the Macon. Now a few years it has become clear that great wines come from here with a great price / quality ratio
The great Hammersma - edition 2017
Lafon is one of the most sought after, famous and reputed producers in Meursault. Has also been making beautiful Mâcon-Villages for a number of years. The 2011 had ripe, soft, round fruit, earthiness, nuts and vanilla filling. The 2012, also available, is nicely ripe with wonderful acidity and a somewhat more flowery character. Now the 2014. Still has that young, untamed. Fickle acids that can go either way. But already extremely tempting. Animal powers. Put on the collar and let it out quietly in the glass.
