Upon entering through the sweeping driveway of Jamieson Ranch Vineyards, one is immediately greeted by the awe-inspiring silhouette of the legendary stallion - Whiplash. His sculpture, intense with graceful movement, hints at why this noble creature won the hearts of everyone with its beauty. Lively, bold and independent like his name, Whiplash was a rare and elegant stallion.

This Californian Zinfandel from Jamieson has matured for 6 months, 30% of which in French oak barrels, so the wine has elegance without being a blockbuster. The Whiplash Zinfandel is delicious to drink now, but can also be stored. We smell aromas of ripe cherries, raspberry jam and cardamom in the nose. On the palate the Zinfandel is full and spicy with juicy flavors of raspberry and blackberry with a good spiciness leading to a rich, beautiful finish.

Combine this wine with a nice piece of grilled or fried meat. Spicy or sweet dishes are a good combination with this wine. This wine is also delicious to drink with a cheese board.
