2019 Francis Ford Coppola 94th Awards Cabernet Sauvignon
Where wine used to be the exclusive territory of winegrowers, it has also become the playground of celebrities with a passion for wine. Director Francis Ford Coppola, with great films to his name such as Apocalypse Now, is a wine lover from the very beginning. For him, the decision to buy a winery in the famed Napa Valley wine region was a logical consequence of this passion for wine and has been doing it since 1975. Francis Ford Coppola's wines are highly sought after and known for being powerful, perfectly balanced. In 2001 the Francis Ford Coppola winery was awarded the “Winery of the Year” (Wine & Spirits) award.
Wine making has been a tradition of the Coppola family for several generations. That includes creating art and entertainment, such as music, cinema films, dinners and more. For Francis Ford Coppola, each of these embodies a celebration of life. Wine, like film, is the result of many people coming together to carry out a unique artistic vision. Every year, Hollywood honors and celebrates the best movies and filmmakers of the year. The 94th Awards Chardonnay 2020 is a tribute to this tradition.
The Awards collection (Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon) is made in very limited quantities and is the best fruit from the Coppola vineyards and a collectos item. The Coppola 94th Award has a deep ruby red color in the glass. This Californian topper is warm, spicy and sultry with aromas of coffee, leather, tobacco, plum and a hint of mint. The wine is surprisingly accessible and powerful with aromas of mint and vanilla, plum and leather, jam, juniper berries. Very complex and not for nothing Coppola's top model. Delicious with a nice hamburger, grilled sirloin steak, tortellini with pesto, mature cheeses.
