Finca Torremilanos is a large family business in one of the best wine regions in Spain, Ribera del Duero. The company, located in the municipality of Aranda de Duero (160 km north of Madrid), has 200 hectares of vineyards under cultivation. All wines are certified as organic and biodynamic. The Peñalba Lopez family works with great respect for nature. The vineyards of Torremilanos are located high: between 800 and 900 meters on the southern slopes of the Duero. The large temperature differences between day and night are beneficial, especially for the aroma development of the grapes.
The Torremilanos Crianza is a blend of 95% Tinta del PaÃs (Tempranillo) and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are on average 50 years old. This wine has matured in barriques for a period of 24 months. In the glass the wine has a ruby red color with a purple tinge. The nose has intense aromas of blackberry, cherry, plum, chocolate and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, this Ribera duero is full bodied but also smooth where we distinguish blackberry, blueberry, balsamic and a hint of vanilla and herbs. Nicely balanced with a long aftertaste and great mineral freshness. This Torremilanos is also organically/biodynamically produced. Small edition and all bottles are numbered. Fantastic price/quality for a high-end Ribera del Duero.
