2019 Emilio Moro Methusalem (5 liter)

This Bodega from Ribera de Duero in the heart of the DO is seen by the other top producers as one of the emerging new stars in the area. With 70 hectares of Tinto Fino from old autochthonous clones, Emilio Moro produces wines that excel in purity, elegance and complexity. The top cuvees are wines from two "Pagos" - individual vineyards with very old vines and extremely small yields.

The Emilio Moro is a 100% Tempranillo comes from different vineyards of different soil types (clay, lime and stone) that are 25-35 years old. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel barrels with 15 days of skin contact and for one year in oak barrels of 50% French and 50% American oak. The Emilio Moro is dark in color and almost opaque. At first it is a bit closed, but after gentle rolling, beautiful and concentrated aromas of plums, ripe black cherries and fine herbs enter the nose. The taste is full of refined tannins, balanced and with a nice acidity. You don't often find such a good Ribera for such a great price.

This Emilio Moro Methusalem is packed in a 5 liter bottle in a beautiful box. Super festive and also, given the large amount of wine, tastier and has a longer storage potential than a normal bottle. The wine comes in a beautiful wooden box, so it is very nice to use the bottle and box at the start of a party to write down the names of the guests and then open the bottle later in the evening. The best way to serve such a large bottle is to pour the wine into a decanting bowl and fill the glasses from there.
