Domaine Marc Colin & Fils is a family estate located in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy. Today, Marc Colin cultivates 12 hectares together with his son Domien Colin and daughter Caroline Colin. The estate produces 26 hectares of vineyards with appellations such as Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay. The vineyards are worked according to the organic concept but without certification. The Colin family is known as a premium source of white Burgundy.

Some of the world's finest white wines are produced in Puligny-Montrachet. The most famous and probably the best of them all comes from the Le Montrachet field. This vineyard is located half in Puligny and half within the commune of Chassagne. In addition to Le Montrachet, Puligny also houses the Grands Cru Chevalier-Montrachet, Batard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet. The wines from Puligny are particularly refined, with beautiful shades and a high degree of complexity.

The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Cuvée 2C has an enchanting bouquet of beautiful notes of lemon, white flowers, peach and even marmalade. The taste is precise and complex with a great balanced acidity and a very harmonious, animated finish. The Champ Gain is the top version of Marc Colin and is extremely stylish, balanced and subtle and is one of the best Chassagnes available. The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gain opens in the glass with hints of nutmeg, pear, peach, white flowers and fresh pastries. Medium to full, supple and charming, with lively acidity, the contours are promising and will gain even more depth with some ageing.

The wine has been awarded (91-93) Parker points and Marc Colin is regarded as one of the best producers in Burgundy. Neal Martin's statement in the Wine Advocate says "Okay, I'm going to say it. Shoot me if I'm wrong. Domaine Marc Colin are currently making some of the greatest whites in Burgundy

Vineyard for 2021 Domaine Marc Colin & Fils Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Cuvée 2C

Marc Colin comes from a wine family in Burgundy with a strong reputation. Together with his two sons, he manages a domain of 20 hectares located in the village of Saint-Aubin in the Côte de Beaune.

Marc Colin's production

He exclusively owns top appellations: Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Premier Cru vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin and Pernand-Vergelesses. This is very exceptional. This domaine is known for its quality, yet Colin sees an opportunity to continually improve this. That is why he is receiving increasingly favorable reviews in the international press. Colin's wines excel in purity and combine power with elegance. Perhaps a bit shy in their youth, but with enormous storage potential. Traditionally minded, he vinifies his wines with a remarkable intuition for nature. Although he is open to innovation, he sticks to a traditional style and strives for optimal freshness in his white wines and avoids the wood-dominated Chardonnay type. He is the most awarded winegrower from St-Aubin and owner of Restaurant Le Chassagne, which has 1 Michelin star.
