This refined red wine comes from the Côtes de Franc, which is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Malbec and Carménère. The different grape varieties are planted in 1 vineyard located on a limestone / rocky plateau. The wine has had 24 aging in large centuries-old wooden (oak) foudres.

In the glass, this wine has a garnet-like color with a beautiful sparkle. In the nose, the wine is fruity with aromas of ripe fruit, toasted almonds, a slight spiciness and even some notes of truffles. In the mouth, the wine is velvety soft and supple tannins. A wine that can seduce our taste buds with its elegant and balanced structure. The wine has decades of aging potential but is already a pleasure.

Château Le Puy, Famille Amoreau de père en fils depuis 1610. Not Bordeaux made like thirty years ago, but Bordeaux made like 100 or 200 years ago. No chemical sprays (biodynamic culture) in the vineyard, nothing from additives during vinification (nor sugar, yeasts, sulphite or other things), aging on old 'foudres' and barriques, not filtered. Château Le Puy is one of the few Bordeaux that you will find in trendy wine circles on the tasting table between natural wines, Jura, Beaujolais and Loire. The label says - Expression originale du Terroir and that is not an empty marketing slogan. Château Le Puy : the Bordeaux before the post-Bordeaux era.

One of the more fruity and lively Bordeaux I tasted this year. And hey, striking: turns out to be biodynamic. Those are more famous wineries, by the way, only they don't put that on the label. Afraid that it will scare off the classically oriented target group. Then let them taste this le Puy. Powerful on the nose, medicinal-chic. Herb crisps. Cassis with haircuts. Tried again the next day. When the cork is removed, a clear 'pop': a sign that the wine has continued to ferment. Lively stuff.
