2019 Château Lascombes Margaux Grand Cru Classé

Château Lascombes is a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from Margaux. Owned by Colony Capital, this cru has been owned by MACSF (Mutuelle d'Assurances du Corps de Santé Français) since 2011. The new owners continue the work and the style. The 2019 vintage is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Petit-Verdot. The Lascombes 2019 is a deep garnet purple in color. In the nose notes of mainly blackcurrant and blackberry, but also spicy notes plus hints of bay leaves and undergrowth. Full-bodied, richly fruity and loaded with ripe black fruit and earthy suggestions, it has a solid base of firm, grainy tannins and the finish is long and savory.

Ch. Lascombes is a very 'masculine' Margaux, with a firm constitution and luscious tannins that, however, merge with the luscious fruit. Ch. Lascombes is a real great storage wine. Drink this wine from 2025/2026 and with some years of cellar maturation, the typical Margaux tannins will melt even further and its true nature will emerge.
