According to Frederic Faye, in 2019 the Cabernet Francs are the best goods he has ever seen here and that is why 36% of the Figeac consists of this grape. The other grapes are the 30% Merlot and 34% Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2019 Figeac is a beautiful Saint-Émilion. The wine drifts out of the glass with aromas of blackberry, cassis, warm herbs, violets and pencil shavings, framed by beautifully integrated new oak. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and concentrated with great depth surrounded by fine grained tannins and lively acidity, ending with a long, precise finish. Rich but lively, it shows the new precision that Frédéric Faye has brought to Figeac; but while richer and more refined than the wines of yesteryear, the estate's identity has not been lost.
