2019 Château d'Issan Margaux Grand Cru Classé

The 2019 D'Issan jumps out of the bottle with aromas of sweet berries and plums mixed with violets, orange zest and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, lively and beautifully concentrated, with lively acidity, powdery tannins and a seamless, elegant profile, it is a charming, perfumed wine that will give a wide drinking window (until 2050+). The blend is dominated by a high proportion (70%) of Cabernet Sauvignon. The heart of Issan is the walled "Clos" at the rear of the picturesque moated castle, which is complemented by more recently acquired properties on the same gravelled terrace. High rating from both Parker and Suckling.
