Description
This winery was founded in 1990 and aims to be part of sustainable viticulture. BenoƮt Ente is mainly associated with producing white wines in Burgundy, with an emphasis on Chardonnay. The Ente family (Arnaud Ente) has been involved in winemaking for generations. BenoƮt took over the family estate and became recognized for his meticulous work in the vineyard and the production of wines that showcase the terroir of the region.
BenoƮt Ente's vineyards are mainly located in the Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault appellations, which are known for their Chardonnays. Puligny-Montrachet is especially famous for its white wines, known for their elegance, minerality and aging potential. Meursault is also known for producing both red and white Burgundy wines of high quality. With almost 6 hectares, it extends over Puligny-Montrachet, supplemented by a vineyard located in Chassagne-Montrachet. In a dynamic of preserving the aromatic richness of terroirs and grape varieties, they look for natural acidity so that the original aromas of the fruit are expressed. The maturation of the wines takes place for 18 months, divided between wood and stainless steel. The different vintages receive equal treatment, without filtration, with the aim that the only factors of variation are the characteristics of the climate.
The grapes of the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru En la Richarde 2019 come from a plot next to Chevalier-Montrachet. It is a medium to full-bodied, spacious and satiny wine that is layered, with great concentration, spicy acidity and a long, salty finish. Some of the best wines from Puligny come from this Premier Cru.
