2019 Albet I Noya Petit Albet Blanc

This delightful friendly white wine has volume through the Chardonnay and freshness with the Xarel.lo. On the label we see the feet of little Lluc, the youngest son of Toni Albet. The Petit Blanci is clear and young in color. Fruit, apple, gooseberry, floral accent, limited notes of the Chardonnay and some typical Mediterranean spiciness of the Xarel.lo. This domain is the bio-pioneer of Spain. Josep-Maria Albet i Noya introduced this new concept in the Spanish vineyards in 1979. Together with his brother Toni, they currently control more than 100 hectares of ecological vineyards. The two brothers are not standing still, because in the meantime they have projects in Rioja, Priorat and they have started a search for forgotten old grape varieties. In 25 years they have managed to make better wines every year and to continue to surprise consumers. They are located in San Pau d'Ordal (Alt Penedès), a good 35 km south of Barcelona, and not far from Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, the capital of the cava.
Josep-Maria is an oenologist who knows what he wants and goes for his goal rigorously. As a young man, he resolutely opted for organic viticulture, against the trends and major domains of the time. Today he is still ahead of everything else; He has not used 100% new barrels for a long time because he wants the fruit to always be given priority over wood use, a philosophy that would benefit more winegrowers in Spain. In the meantime he has developed all kinds of techniques to make wine as naturally as possible, with the addition of the minimum of sulfur.
