2019 Vina Carmen Sauvignon Blanc Reserva Premier 1850

In recent years, Chile has been working with great success on high quality Sauvignon Blanc. Planting in the cooler vineyards in particular has played an important role in this. Casablanca Valley is one such region, where the coolness of the Pacific provides the perfect conditions for making fresh Sauvignons. The grapes ripen nicely here, but because they stay on the vine longer, they also retain their acidity. Due to the greater temperature differences between day and night, they have a stronger taste at the same time. The wine acquires a wonderfully exotic character through fermentation at a very low temperature, around 12 °C. Prior to fermentation, the wine soaks for no less than ten days on the skins at a temperature of 3º - 4ºC, which gives it extra strength and taste. With a maturation on the 'lie', the dead yeast cells, the education is completed. This also makes the wine gain in complexity and taste. It produces a delicious glass of Sauvignon, juicy, elegant, open, with a pronounced freshness.

In the glass, the 1850 Reserva Sauvignon has a light straw yellow color with a green tinge. In the nose, the wine is fragrant, with lime, citrus and flint, broad and exotic, a touch of boxwood, with pleasant gooseberries. In the mouth the wine is full and powerful, green pepper and asparagus, exciting, fresh and powerful at the same time, mild final. An excellent aperitif, delicious with oysters, shrimps, herring tartare, white meat and green salads.
