The Valmaggiore is 100% made from the Nebbiolo grape. the Nebbiolo grape is perhaps the largest red grape variety in Italy, responsible for the great red wines of Barolo, Barbaresco and Roero in the Piedmont region. The wine has a clear cherry red color with soft notes of ripe cherries, straw, clay and everything in a nice balance of fruit, acidity and tannins.

Marco Marengo makes exciting wines, but is still one of those among the radar producers and as a result, the wines have enormous value. After years of working with his father Mario, he finally left it alone in 2001 when his father died. With his small stock of 6ha, Marco makes some of the most stylish and distinctive wines in the region. From Dolcetto to the fantastic Barolo, Le Brunate - they show the elegance and drinkability that great La Morra wines should define. The Brunate, for which Marco has built a great reputation, is the jewel in his crown. It is one of the largest crus in Barolo and the typical La Morra-style Barolo with its ethereal perfume and finesse tinted with a complex kindness and refined but powerful tannins. Marco owns two plots of vines ranging from 15 to 70 years old. After a soft, slow fermentation and maceration, the wines are aged in oak barriques, with an absolute maximum of 25% new wood, for 24 months.
