2018 Il Palagio La Duchessa Chianti Riserva DOCG

Il Palagio is a wine estate located near the medieval town of Figline Valdarno known as the 'Farm of Florence'. They owe this nickname to the abundance of maize that used to be there. Baci sulla Bocca is the first wine of Il Palagio 1530 which has been accompanied by the famous couple from the juice to the final bottle. The number 1530 is the year Il Palagio started actively producing wine. In addition to the existing range and this top white wine from Il Palagio, there will also be a high-quality rosé called Brand New Day - named after a well-known song by Sting.

For me, life in Il Palagio is like living in a painting. It is one of the favorite places on earth: the atmosphere for Sting and his wife Trudy. The Sting and Trudie's La Duchessa Chianti Riserva is a new member of Il Palagio and was not released until early 2022. It is a delicious and unique Chianti riserva which has had a total of almost 4 years of aging. The Sangiovese first matured in barriques and then 6 months in large oak faults and then another year in the bottle in the beautiful cellars of the Il Palagia estate. This Duchese has an intense color and comes from the estate of Sting and Trudie. Truly a typical Tuscan wine with lots of fruit, elegance and finesse, aromas of black cherries, blackberries, a little coffee and leather. In the mouth the taste of dark fruit, lots of length and nice medium tannins. This wine is a real asset to the Tenuta Il Palagio range.
