Giannikos Winery owns 8 hectares of vines in two locations, one in Corinth around the winery and the other in Mycenae, near the famous archaeological site and birthplace of Greek viticulture almost 4000 years ago. Both vineyards are grown strictly organically because it is believed that only naturally grown vines can produce healthy grapes that form the basis of their quality wines. Another important aspect is the influence of the sea on the microclimate. The cooling winds, together with the Mediterranean sun and the soil, provide the best conditions and are the reasons why Giannikos Winery is already very popular and known internationally, but given the small production.

Greece has a rich heritage of indigenous grape varieties and Giannikos Winery has a philosophy of uniting tradition and new technology. That is why they grow organically and harvest and prune carefully by hand. In the winery, they use modern steel tanks, state-of-the-art machinery and French oak barrels from selected manufacturers.
The Windmill is a highly sought-after Greek white wine made for 100% of the native Greek grape Malgouzia. The Malagousia is a real quality grape and is one of the most important white grapes in Greece. You will find the Malgousia mainly in the north of Greece and in the Peloponnese, but you will not trip over it. The Malgousia was virtually extinct not long ago. Fortunately, his quality has been recognized in time and more and more winemakers are planting it.
The Giannikos Winery Malgouzia Windmill is a rich white wine with a luscious scent with fresh citrus notes of orange, lime and rosehips and a little fresh basil. The wine has a good firmness in the middle of the palate. It feels solid and focused. Well balanced with a fresh acidity.

The grapes are picked by hand and sorted by hand. The fermentation takes place with skin contact (shells) in stainless steel tanks at a constant low temperature. The wine is certified organic according to European Organic Regulations (EC) No 834/2007

Food Pairing: seafood, poultry, light pasta dishes and fresh vegetable salads.

Fact : The windmills on the label are an iconic feature of the Greek landscapes and a favorite subject for writers and painters.
