Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is one of the best producers from the famous village of Chassagne-Montrachet. The domaine has its origins in the fine Gagnard-Delagrange farms of fifty years ago, as the vineyards originate from the marriage of Richard Fontaine to Jacques Gagnard's eldest daughter, Laurence Gagnard, in 1982.
The Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Clos St Jean comes from plots that are more or less hidden in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. This delicious Chassagne-Montrachet has a well-defined nose with notes of orange and a subtle hint of honey. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, satiny and nicely defined, its fleshy core of fruit balanced by juicy acidity. This is a generous Chassagne-Montrachet that will give a lot of pleasure in its youth.
