2018 Domaine de la Butte Le Pied De La Butte Bourgueil
This Pied de la Butte comes from the Bourgeuil located in the Loire wine region. The beautiful red wine comes from winemaker Jacky Blot of Domaine de la Butte , without a doubt a beautiful terroir, with vines of 35 years and older. The soil consists of a subsoil of limestone tuff with a layer of clay and silex on top. This soil produces a wine with the necessary structure, but always with a fruity character, to be enjoyed in the medium term. This Cabernet Franc was vinified with drinking pleasure in mind. Manual harvest of ripe grapes, no addition of sugar or yeasts and a fermentation in large concrete tanks to let the fruit speak.
This is a more serious Cabernet Franc that is still nicely balanced. The aromas are typical of a Loire Cabernet Franc with pencil shavings of fresh red fruit, paprika. The tannin management also stands out because the mouthfeel is already silky smooth. The weight of the wine is medium but has so much depth. This is supported by a juicy acidity that makes the wine very gastronomic. Fruit dominates in the delicious Domaine de la Butte 'Jacky Blot' Le Pied de La Butte. This wine goes well with beef, pork, venison, game, poultry and mild and soft cheeses.
