The Giovanni Neri Rosso di Montalcino is a new wine from Casanova di Neri (year 2018). Coming from a new vineyard located on the magical mountain just above Tenuta Nuova - between Sant'Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo - the vineyard was planted about 50 years ago. From 2023, the grapes from this plot will be used for a top Brunello from the Neri family (and therefore significantly more expensive) so as long as this still has the Rosso di Montalcino classification, this is a collector's item but also affordable because if this wine about a few one of the top brunello will be totally different prices. Only a very limited number of bottles are produced from this lot. From the first 2018 hunting only 2999 bottles.
Casanova di Neri belongs to the new generation of Brunello producers. The company started in 1971, when Giovanni Neri bought the largest domain in the Montalcino area. The domain covers a total of 39 ha and is divided into 4 vineyards. The oldest vineyard is 50 years old. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 350 meters above sea level. Casanova di Neri is one of the best producers of Brunello wines. The Tenuta Nuova is among their very best Brunello where every effort is made to pursue ultimate perfection.
