Founded in Rioja in 1936, Muga has a range that well represents Rioja and its vineyards in all its aspects and price range. The Muga Blanco Fermentado en Barrica (Barrel Fermented Blanco) is a blend of the white grapes from Rioja - the Viura & Malvasía that are fermented in oak barrels (usually from Nevers in France and from Hungary) where it matures and comes into contact with the fine lees until about February (4-5 months total). This wine has an extremely low pH, 3.05, which is responsible for its clarity and bright, pale color. The Muga Blanco FB is subtle and elegant, with some minerality, white flowers and fruit. The taste is soft, with good integrated acidity and is very clean. The white Rioja is currently becoming more and more popular with beautiful and, above all, very elegant white wines. Sierra Cantabria, Murrieta, Remirez de Ganuza have certainly been the forerunners in this.
