Contador is one of the crown jewels of Rioja, blessed by the legendary 100 points of guru Robert Parker Jr.'s tasting team, over two consecutive vintages: 2004 and 2005 and thereafter only wines between 95-100 points. It is the work of Benjamin Romeo, who has managed to realize the potential of Rioja. to show when you produce in very short runs with only focus on the very best.

The Benjamín Romeo Colección Nº 4 Garnacha de La Dehesa is the only 100% Garnacha in the collection. It is a very stylish, elegant and powerful expression of the grape from a vineyard planted in 1900 on sandstone soils with the depth and concentration of the old vines. So these are still original not grafted
Pre-phylloxera vines predate that almost all vines in Europe have been destroyed by the grape aphid (on sandy soils the aphid could not dig its holes) - There is a lot of strength and concentration, but there is freshness and finesse. Despite the relatively high alcohol that often occurs with Garnacha, the freshness and acidity ensure that it does not come across that way at all and is very balanced. A maximum of 2,400 bottles will also come from this unique plot, which were only released at the beginning of 2021.
