2018 Attems Pinot Grigio

Attems is a name that has written history in Friuli Venezia Giulia. A document has been found that proves that wines have been made on the land of Attems since 1106. A centuries-old tradition that has made this winery a local reference point, starring Count Douglas Attems. Because it was the count who founded the Consorzio dei Vini del Collio (Collio Wine Consortium) in 1964. The Attems winery thus has a rich history and has the most beautiful vineyards in Collio. Winery Attems, part of Frescobaldi since 2000, has a long history. This is one of the oldest wineries in Friuli.

At a height of sixty meters are the Pinot Grigio vineyards, full of sunshine the grapes get everything they need. The wine is perfect because of the old vines that have been in the rich soil since 1963. Thick and sturdy trusses grow up in peace, partly due to the wind that provides refreshment to the grapes. The Attems Pinot Grigio is surely the showpiece with an inviting straw yellow color with notes of tropical fruit and pear in the nose, which immediately characterizes it as an Italian Pinot Grigio. The wine is characterized by an explosive fruitiness in the nose. A perfect balance and viscosity with a nice minerality. Spicy but above all lively.
