2022 Antonio Caggiano Bechar Fiano di Avellino

This Bechar Fiano di Avellino is, as the name suggests, 100% made from Fiano grapes, which ensures a beautiful straw yellow color with hints of gold and a wonderfully fresh and refined taste. An expressive wine with a pleasant scent of flowers, dried fruit and fine herbs on the nose. The wine is firm and has a refreshing acidity. The wine becomes extra tasty when it ages a little longer. The wine is made by the Italian quality winery Antonio Caggiano from Campania . The winery is located in Taurasi, an area surrounded by an atmosphere of folklore, ancient traditions, historical architecture and religion. The city of Taurasi has a historic city center with amazing architectural feats and ancient art pieces. Old churches and chapels embellish the area with its many folkloric festivals and traditions. Taurasi is an important wine center for the region.

The Bechar comes from vineyards from the DOCG Fiano di Avellino (and also the Comune di Lapio). The vineyards there are about 400 meters above sea level. The soil of the vineyards is a mixture of clay and limestone. The grapes are harvested in mid-October. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats and of course sur lie. The wine then ages in the bottle for about 3 months. The white ones from Caggiano are always released at the beginning of summer the following year.

This beautiful white wine tastes great with a meal with fish, shellfish and crustaceans. Also delicious with vegetarian dishes, risotto, starters and with a cozy drink with snacks.
