Weingut Schwarz was founded by Hans Schwarz, originally a true butcher. A vineyard that has been cared for by the family for generations. The Butcher line was set up to represent the Schwarz Weiss and Rot wines. The Butcher wines are all made for their drinkability. The Butcher series is now a serious hype. The great unique design and the price / quality makes this a very requested wine.
The Weingut Schwarz Butcher Cuvée Rot is a blend of Zweigelt (60%), Blaufränkisch (20%), Merlot (20%) coming from the Austrian Burgenland. The grapes have had 12 months of aging in used barrique. In the glass, the Butcher Cuvée Rot has a dark ruby red color with purple/violet hues. In the nose red and dark fruit such as red currants and blackberries, but also a little nut, herbs, orange peel and spices. Deliciously drinkable with a rich and ripe tannin with some vanilla in the aftertaste. The Cuvee Rot is a very complex elegant wine belonging to one of the better red wines according to the Grand Cru wine team.
