The total vineyard possession comprises 18 hectares with possessions in: Randersacker, Pfülben, Teufelskeller, Marsberg, Sonnenstuhl and Ewig Leben. Viticulture takes place with as little intervention as possible and with respect for nature.

The most important grape variety is the Silvaner, 31% followed by the Müller-Thurgau with 15%, Riesling 14%, Bacchus 5%, Weißburgunder 5%, 15% Spätburgunder and Domina, 9% other varieties, including: Scheurebe and Rieslaner. Fermentation takes place as much as possible with the yeast cells that occur on the grapes themselves. A pure method of winemaking is part of the standard procedure, in which - depending on grape variety and wine style - use is made of temperature-controlled fermentation on stainless steel or fermentation on oak wood feeds. Some red and white varieties undergo fermentation and upbringing in small oak barrels of 225 L. (barrique).

Weingut Schmitt's Kinder is a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter). Schmitt´s Kinder received an honorable mention from the Free State of Bavaria, the highest honor you can get as an estate on behalf of Bavaria. In both 2008 and 2009, Schmitt's Kinder received the prestigious German Wine Producer of the Year title at the International Wine and Spirits Competition.

This Weingut Schmitt's Kinder Müller-Thurgau comes from a vineyard whose soil contains a lot of lime (shells). The preparation of the wine is very traditional, only in oak barrels and stainless steel. no plastic tanks! The Müller-Thurgau has its own unique look in Franconia and transforms here from a light, fairly simple wine into a full-bodied glass with a fairly strong taste structure. This wine is dry, light in alcohol, but intense in taste. An interesting combination of juicy fruit with a hearty mineral tone. This is a delicious excellent aperitif. Not too heavy and not much alcohol but nice and fresh and elegant. It is an excellent companion for pork, poultry, pate and various not too spicy, preferably fatty sausages.
