Made via traditional champenoise and also made from the exact same grape as the French brother-de champagne. The Argent Gran Reserva is the top model of the dynamic company Gramona, which has been making absolute top wines since 1881, of which their Cava's are the pinnacle. Only 1 focus and that is quality. The oenologist Jaume Gramona, who runs the company with his cousin Xavier, teaches at the University of Tarragona. Gramona has a low yield per hectare for Cava producers. In the summer, a green harvest is done, in which an excess of trusses is cut away. The company makes its own yeasts and liqueur d'expédition in a more than one hundred year old solera system. The Cava market is dominated by large houses with huge volumes. Top companies like Gramona have a very different philosophy and work exclusively on quality.
After harvesting, there is a pneumatic pressing with 40% yield. The alcoholic fermentation with natural yeast cells according to the Método Tradicional with a maturation 'sur lattes' of at least 36 months. 2nd fermentation under cork. Argent Rosé is marketed as Brut Nature. The Argent Rose Gran Reserva Brut Nature is produced exclusively with Pinot Noir grapes. The Grammona Argent Gran Reserva rose has matured for 36 months in the bottle. This is a real Blanc de Noir and this rosé cava will certainly not disappoint you. Wonderfully fresh with a good integrated acidity and a fine perlage. Only 4,000 bottles of this top model were produced.
Beautiful sparkling pink. When we sniff it, we notice that we have something big in the glass. Complex, complete and with many leads. Fruity notes of red pome fruits, fine toast and brioche, as well as vinousness. On the tongue we get a confirmation of the scent palette. Fine and very creamy mousse and a taste that matches the largest rosé bubbles of the world wine lake!
ABOUT CORPINNAT
Gramona is part of the DO Corpinnat which was founded in 2016 by a number of (high-end) producers who have distanced themselves from DO Cava mainly because of the fact that no distinction can be made in quality in the CAVA model. Corpinnat is therefore, just like Cava (or Champagne), a sparkling wine that is made via the traditionelle method, i.e. by a second fermentation in the bottle and this creates the bubbles and this is a brand name founded by a number of quality producers who wanted to distinguish With Corpinnat as protected brand (such as a Grandcru or a Grande Reserva) determines not only the region for the naming, but also the terroir and that is much more than just the area; it is also about climate, grape varieties, the vineyard and the winery. Another famous house that is part of Corpinnat is, for example, Recaredo
The very dynamic family business Gramona has existed since 1881, currently the 5th generation of mainly 150 ha own vineyards makes formidable sparkling wines. Traditional, but using modern technology. Since the opening of the new Bodega in 2006 just outside the village, Gramona is also technically completely ready for the coming years. In a Research and Development program, research is conducted at a very high level into climate change, ecological viticulture, sustainability and everything related to the formation and preservation of the mousse. The oenologist Jaume Gramona, who runs the company with his cousin Xavier, teaches at the University of Tarragona. Gramona has a low yield per hectare for Cava producers. In the summer, a green harvest is done, with an excess of bunches being cut away. The company makes its own yeasts and liqueur d'expédition in a more than a hundred years old solera system. Gramona's stock is about 1.5 million bottles. The Cava market is dominated by large houses with huge volumes. Top companies like Gramona have a completely different philosophy and work exclusively on quality. Currently, they have three locations in Sant Sadurni for the production of their wines.
Gramona is, first and foremost, always concerned with maximum quality in the wines and champagnes. This aim is reflected in every moment and in every step of the process (pruning, harvesting, production, selection). This ethos is conveyed in the coat of arms: "Viti, Vini, Vitae": the vine, wine, life, a synthesis of our history. As a company with a long tradition , respect for the area and nature is of paramount importance. At Gramona they use the exceptional terroir and the experience in the traditional production ("Champenois") to produce high-quality and, above all, very elegant Cavas.
