Grosses Gewächs means "high growth" in German. It is the term used for the best dry wine from a producer (equivalent to "grand cru"). These wines are easily recognized by the new logo "GG" on the This dry (Trocken) Riesling comes from the steep slopes of the Moselle. For the past 20 years, Dr. Loosen has banned the use of chemicals from their vineyards, using only organic fertilizers. This Riesling is fermented with native yeasts and the wine stays in contact with the drosem (sur Lieu) for 12 months without bonnage. In the glass this wine is lemon yellow in color. The Graacher Himmelreich Riesling trocken GG gives a pure, deep and enormously complex and mineral scented aroma of slate and herbs , which makes Himmelreich an excellent wine and this is further confirmed in the mouth because it is complex, spicy, pure, juicy and very elegant. The finish is complex and long. roge Riesling

Can be widely used at the table, with most fish and seafood dishes, white meat, pasta with a creamy gorgonzola sauce and soft cheeses. Also very rewarding as a companion of spicy and even spicy Eastern dishes.

The domain Dr. Loosen has been in the same family for more than 200 years. When Ernst Loosen took over the helm in 1988, he came into possession of very special vines with an average age of more than 60 years! A part of the vineyards itself consists of grafted sticks of more than 120 years old! To be able to produce world-class wines, Ernst Loosen drastically reduced the yield per hectare and immediately stopped the systematic chemical fertilization of the vineyards. Since then, only natural fertilizers have been used in small quantities. The biggest revolution took place in the wine cellars, where everything was set up to treat the grapes, must and wines as gently as possible, in order to fully preserve the essence of terroir and grape. The Riesling prevails in the vineyards as a unique grape. It comes in various forms, from dry to noble sweet, from elegant and light to full and ultra-concentrated, depending on the harvest time, the age of the vines, the ripening stage of the grapes, the presence or absence of noble rot (botrytis), the terroir and of course, the harvest year. The bottom of dr. Loosen vineyards consist of a rock-hard slate substrate that forces the roots to go deep in search of water, minerals and nutrition. The location of the vineyards on the extremely steep, south-facing slopes on the banks of the Mosel is ideal for a slow, perfect ripening. The grapes were basically bathing three times in the sun, directly and reflected off the stone bottom and the river. Dr.'s vineyards Loosen is located along the lazily swinging Mosel, between Bernkastel and Kindel, with world-famous names such as Bernkasteler Lay, Dr. Loosen, Graacher Himmelreich, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Urziger Würzgarten, Erdener Prälat and Erdener Treppchen.
