2017 Château La Négly L' Ancely

Château la Négly is located in the Languedoc, on the banks of the Étang de Pissévache on the foothills of the Massif of La Clape. Négly is owned by the Paux-Rosset family, and daughter Marion makes the wine, assisted by oenologist Claude Gros. The great diversity of soils, height difference and location (up to ten meters from the high tide!), allows for a great variety in style and strength, but there is one characteristic that connects all wines: great precision and a high degree of minerality. The quality of Négly has also not gone unnoticed by Parker: he repeatedly gave high (up to 99 points) ratings to various Négly wines!

The 2017 La Négly La Clape L'Ancely is a great example of Mourvèdre's potential in the La Clape appellation. It expresses a very different expression than, for example, Bandol - more seductive and tender. In the nose, raspberries and cherries are abundant, but also subtle herbal and salty elements that give the wine a savory edge. It is medium to full, rich in texture and soft. With a few years of aging this becomes even more beautiful and given the resistance of Mourvèdre to oxidation, this can have a long life 96/100 Parker.
