2017 Borgogno Barolo Liste DOCG

Borgogno is one of the very first and probably the oldest wineries in Piedmont. The Italian winery strongly believes in the classical and traditional philosophy whatever its strength; For years, the observance of these traditions has been passed on to the next generations. Borgogno owns 13 hectares of vineyards, 9 of which are planted with the Nebbiolo grape. The wines are all vinified in the traditional way to produce unique and structured wines. The wines are produced sustainably.

Borgogno has access to several Cru vineyards; Liste, Cannubi and Fossati. These vineyards are scattered throughout the area and give the best and typical Barolo styles. The Liste matures for 4 years in Slovenian oak barrels (6000 ltr) after which the wine matures for another 8 months in bottle. The Baralo Liste has a deep dark red color with violet hues in the glass. In the nose beautiful notes of roses, dried cherries and red berries that evolve into spices and tobacco. In the mouth an explosion of flowers and red fruit! This is a beautiful full-bodied wine with a good balance between tannins and acids and as a top Barolo should be, but in the end this is the Grandcru of Borgogno. Tip: Try the Trio of Grandcru Barolos (Cannubi, Liste and Fossati) vertically in a beautiful tasting. Great to see what terroir can do.
